10 90’s Movies You Forgot Were Totally Awesome

7. Starship Troopers

Before Denise Richards was marrying Charlie Sheen, she was a pretty big deal in the 90€™s. So it comes as no surprise that she features on this list twice and was cast as the love interest and general female badass in the 1997 blockbuster Starship Troopers. Troopers was an instant fan favourite, due majoritively to the comical and satirical military style propaganda footage that they used to break the film into sections and give the movie context. The film follows Johnny Rico as he joins the Mobile Infantry after his home is destroyed by the greatest threat known to mankind; giant bugs from outer space! Even though this big budget movie didn€™t make a killing at the box office, it was relatively successful and became a must see among the millennials. With massive action scenes and cutting edge special effects for it€™s time, Starship Troopers showcased moments where it seemed genuinely realistic and actually pretty gross. It€™s also a movie that you could still watch today and consider it relatively entertaining, but do not under any circumstances watch it€™s 3 sequels if you would like to keep fond memories of the first!
