10 More Upcoming Movies That Just Made PERFECT Casting Choices
1. Jennifer Lopez - Kiss of the Spider-Woman
As pop stars-turned-actors go, Jennifer Lopez has acquitted herself surprisingly well over the decades, enough that she even entered the awards conversation for her superb performance in 2019's Hustlers.
And J-Lo is back with another splashy role that couldn't really seem better-suited to her skills - a new adaptation of Terrence McNally's 1976 novel Kiss of the Spider-Woman, based on the acclaimed stage musical.
Lopez will play the role of golden age movie star Ingrid Luna, and as the trailer has made clear, it'll require her to sing, dance, be glamorous, and be seductive - none of which will be much of a stretch for her.
All the same, early reviews from the movie's Sundance Film Festival premiere have called it the role that Lopez was born to play, encompassing her entire skill set for a performance that's already racked up its fair share of Best Supporting Actress Oscar buzz.
Whether or not that pans out in the end, it's tough to imagine another person being better-suited for this role.
