7. Unbreakable 2
The Previous Movie: M. Night Shyamalan's second major feature, Unbreakable, is about a physically disabled man, Elijah (Samuel L. Jackson), trying to find his "unbreakable" equivalent, believing he has found him in David (Bruce Willis), the sole survivor of a brutal train crash. The movie was a critical hit and modest commercial success, noted for its heady twists and fascinating engagement with the superhero myth.
Why It Was Abandoned: It didn't take long at all for rumours of a sequel to abound, with Bruce Willis hopeful for a trilogy eventually. Shyamalan, however, claimed soon after that he'd never thought of anything beyond the first film, and has since fleeted between the idea of making a sequel and not. The idea, according to Willis, was a showdown of sorts between Elijah and David, yet even after Shyamalan came up with a new villain for Unbreakable 2, he decided instead to use it on another project he is working on. This guy's decision making skills are
seriously out of whack...
