10 Absurd Comic Book Characters Who Will Never Get A Film

This is one of those characters where you can think that yes, the actual ability to eat everything would be kind of useless, but the execution of it is probably the silliest thing in the universe. And at a certain point, is this more of a gift or a curse? Yeah, you CAN physically eat and digest everything in existence, but would you want to?

Plus, the origin story of this unique superpower is, shall we say, suspect. Matter-Eater Lad is an alien whose planet discovered that their food sources were inedible, so they somehow evolved to be able to just consume everything. Please. There are still humans on earth who are struggling to get to the point where their digestive systems are evolved enough to allow them to drink milk as adults, so this whole eating everything seem doesn't sound feasible. The entire civilization would have died out before it evolved to the point where it could just change what matter provides sustenance.

Putting these qualms aside, the biggest issue with Matter-Eater Lad is the same thing that caused his writers to frequently sideline him: there just aren't that many scenarios where the ability to eat your way out would save the day.
