10 Action Movie Flops That Deserve A Second Chance
6. Warrior King 2
Tony Jaa returns in this sequel to 2005’s Warrior King (aka The Protector), delivering his most exciting film since the original Ong Bak.
Once again, Jaa encounters some villains who’ve been poaching elephants, which eventually leads to a martial arts showdown with RZA, who’s so evil he attaches a bomb to an elephant in one scene. This sits none too well with our hero who, along with a sidekick, decides to wipe out the supporting cast in a series of effects-heavy action sequences.
In fact, the unconvincing CGI was the biggest bone of contention among critics, but if you can put that kind of action movie snobbery aside, there’s plenty of fun to be had, particularly during the rousing finale. Packing in more chases, explosions and fight scenes than the original, this was clearly the astonishingly athletic Jaa's dry run for his part in Furious 7.
