10 Action-Packed Jackie Chan Movies You've Likely Never Seen
2. Shinjuku Incident
It's not very often you come across a movie featuring Jackie Chan that's rated an 18 with the BBFC, but that's exactly what Shinjuku Incident has been certified as.
This toned-down crime drama features Jackie Chan as a Chinese immigrant illegally making his way onto the shores of Japan, hoping to find his long-lost love who left years earlier. On his travels, Chan reluctantly gets involved with local feuding yakuza in an effort to win back his partner, and to ensure the immigrant Chinese community around him is protected and supported.
However, as he gains power and notoriety, his group becomes a gang of their own, with frictions flaring, and wars with competing gangsters just around the corner. Shinjuku Incident is not the typical happy-go-lucky action extravaganza one comes to expect from a Jackie Chan flick, and it's all the better for it. The action hits harder as the drama ramps up in intensity, and when fists do fly, it's brutal.
