10 Actors Who Need To Stop Flogging A Dead Horse

5. Bruce Willis

Done To Death: John McClane, the ultimate "one final mission" hero. Like Harrison Ford, Bruce Willis seems to want to resurrect the characters that made him famous rather than create new ones. Frustratingly of course, despite being an action hero, Willis chooses some interesting projects to fill the gaps between Die Hard movies, like The Sixth Sense and Moonrise Kingdom, but those roles have been few and far between. Still, that doesn't negate the fact that Willis continues to drive the Die Hard franchise deeper and deeper into the ground: his performance in the latest entry, last year's A Good Day to Die Hard, barely resembled the original John McClane at all. And curiously, he seems only to be motivated when he's playing McClane (even under other names), as, aside from his palette-cleansing indie roles, everything else draws a half interested, pay-check performance out of him. Sooner or later, it has to be made a lot easier for McClane to die.
