10 Actors Not Returning For Upcoming Sequels

2. Karen Fukuhara - Suicide Squad

We had barely gotten a chance to mourn Will Smith’s Deadshot before James Gunn, true to merciless form, threw the rest of his Suicide Squad sequel cast on the chopping block. Gone is Killer Croc, Cara Delevigne’s villainous Enchantress, and Karen Fukuhara’s Katana, all to make way for a new brood in their place.

Scandalous is an understatement, given what a pivotal role the characters played in the first film—or at least, were probably supposed to play—before the flick was cut to ribbons between post-production and myriad reshoots. The standout figure in this list of the sequel’s non-entities, though, is Karen Fukuhara, a name which really stung DC diehards.

Since the first film, the actor has had the chance to harness her heroic potential in roles ranging from Amazon’s brutal The Boys to Netflix’s more kid-friendly She-ra reboot and barely got a chance to flex her muscles as Katana. Despite her evident potential, she never even got a proper send off in the first film before being unceremoniously dropped for the second.
