10 Actors Who Were Paid Shockingly Little For Famous Roles

2. Brad Pitt - Thelma & Louise - $6,000

Brad Pitt has such star power that he was paid a whopping $30 million dollars for his role in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, because that's the sort of salary you can ask for when you're Brad Pitt. Still, Pitt didn't always have a reputable career as a Hollywood heartthrob and Angelina Jolie on his arm - for his first notable role in Ridley Scott's Thelma & Louise, which co-starred Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, the actor was paid a mere $6,000 dollars for his turn. Pitt starred as an object of desire in the flick (as paroled thief J.D., you'll remember), of course, a trend he has repeated all throughout his Hollywood career. The fact that he was given just $6,000 bucks for this memorable secondary role - which is featured rather fairly as far as secondary roles go - seems like the stuff of madness, though, especially since Thelma & Louise had a budget of $15 million and came from the director of Alien and Blade Runner.
