Jane Wiedlin is best known as being a member of the eighties band The Go-Go's, whose song We Got The Beat was memorably used as the intro to Fast Times At Ridgemont High. She also formed her own band, froSTed, in the nineties, with the capitalized S and T standing for Star Trek, as she is such a huge Star Trek fan.

She appeared in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, though she technically doesn't appear on-screen. Rather, in a case of how far down the rabbit hole will we go, she appears on a screen, on-screen.

She played Lieutenant/Lieutenant Commander (unclear with the insignia seen) Trillya, who was serving aboard the USS Shepard when the Whale Probe disabled them.

She is effectively background noise during her appearance, though it can just be discerned that she is sending a distress call and that there is a virus aboard the ship that was contained, though now is ravaging the ship's crew. She further stated that life support reserves would only last another eight hours and that, at that point, the situation was looking pretty grim for her ship.
