10 Actors Who Are Unrecognisable In Upcoming Movies

Christian Bale has certainly never been an actor to shy away from a jaw-dropping transformation - quite the opposite, in fact.

And while most of Bale's major physical transformations have been for smaller, more prestigious films, he's most recently been piled under a metric ton of makeup to play Thor: Love and Thunder's main villain, Gorr the God Butcher.

While there were initial concerns that Bale might be playing Gorr through performance capture, that's clearly not the case, and fans will get to feel the full, unfettered brunt of his physical acting chops, albeit layered beneath makeup and prosthetics that render him nigh-on unrecognisable.

Bale's certainly bringing his signature intensity to the role of the galaxy-faring, literally god-killing crusader, and while the MCU's treatment of its villains remains infamously hit-and-miss, it's tough to picture Bale signing on and committing this hard if there wasn't something interesting for him to do.

If nothing else he looks the sublimely creepy part and truly like we've never seen him before.
