10 Actors Who Could Play The Next James Bond
3. Jonathan Bailey
Remember how Rege-Jean Page stole everyone's hearts from his role in Bridgeton? Well, he left after season one and there was a gap for a charming swoon-worthy lead. Insert Jonathan Bailey. You might be forgiven for not being as aware of the English actor but Bailey has recently added to speculation recently and rose into the public consciousness enough to be a key name in the race to be the next James Bond.
While Rege-Jean Page was a relative newcomer when he rose to fame as part of the Bridgeton cast, Bailey has an extensive back catalogue of starring in some of the most successful British TV dramas, from Broadchurch to W1A. He's not shy of taking on iconic roles either, starring as Leonardo Di Vinci in the 2011 drama Leonardo.
Bailey's certainly got the look and charm of a Bond, but where he may struggle more is intensity. This isn't a knock to the actor, but his previous roles have often tended to be lighter in tone. The biggest gamble really is that he's less tried and tested on the big screen. Bailey's primarily stuck to our TV screens for his performances, and while an appearance in the upcoming Wicked adaptation is on the way, he's not a big-name draw like others in the running.
