10 Actors Who Desperately Need Their Own Netflix Movie
6. Mike Myers
Oh, how the mighty can fall. Mike Myers was of course a household name from the early 1990s through to the late 2000s with his success on the Wayne's World, Austin Powers and Shrek franchises.
It all came crashing down, then, with the release of 2008's "comedy" The Love Guru, which won Myers Razzies for Worst Picture, Worst Actor and Worst Screenplay, with the film being widely accepted as the actor's worst-ever starring project.
Despite an acclaimed cameo in Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds the very next year, Myers hasn't headlined a live-action movie since, though he did earn praise for directing a 2013 documentary about legendary Hollywood talent agent Shep Gordon.
Sure, Myers deserved to be raked over the coals for The Love Guru, but did it really have to single-handedly tank his career?
While nobody's saying he should get a multi-picture streaming deal ala Adam Sandler, Netflix could be responsible for reviving the legendary comedian's career if they offered him a contract to bring a new comedy movie to the platform.
Considering that Myers has a reputation for clashing with studios, Netflix's hands-off approach would surely fit him like a glove.
How Likely Is It?: Myers keeps things so low-profile these days there aren't even any guarantees he actually wants back into the movie game. Netflix could feel that too much time has passed and the actor's brand of comedy isn't all that relevant anymore.
Then again, Wayne's World 3 or Austin Powers 4 on Netflix? Make it happen (wildly unlikely though it is). 3/10
