A few years before Michael Fassbender put in an Academy Award-nominated shift as Steve Jobs in Danny Boyle's biopic focusing on the titular Apple co-founder, Ashton Kutcher also went full Jobs in a slightly less successful attempt to tell the iconic figure's story on the big-screen.

While Kutcher's performance itself was saluted by some heading out of the Joshua Michael Stern-directed 2013 film, many felt the picture as a whole was largely unsatisfying and not worth the trip to theatres.

Proving just how ridiculously dedicated Kutcher unquestionably was when it came to getting into the headspace of the legendary tech entrepreneur, however, it was eventually noted by the star's wife Mila Kunis that her hubby went a little too far when trying to copy Jobs' fruitarian diet for the role.

With Kutcher scoffing only fruit, nuts, and seeds in the lead-up to the shoot, the leading man actually ended up in hospital twice with pancreatitis. The star himself had also previously revealed how he ended up in hospital just two days before he was set to begin filming on the flick due to his foolish commitment to the diet.

All that fruit scoffing and pancreas punishment, and for what? 28% on Rotten Tomatoes. Oh, the cruel irony.
