10 Actors Who Destroyed Themselves For Terrible Movies
4. Jaimie Alexander Was Temporarily Paralysed After A Fall - Thor: The Dark World
While the second Thor solo MCU outing may not exactly jump out as the most memorable of Marvel features ever pumped into theatres, it did bring with it one of the most shocking on-set injuries the superhero moviemaking world has ever unfortunately seen.
During the making of the fairly unremarkable The Dark World 2013 Phase Two flick, Lady Sif actor Jaimie Alexander found herself walking down some metal steps at 5AM in the morning at one point. And it was during that dark, rainy walk that the star suddenly slipped down the staircase and did some serious damage to her back in the process.
As the injured performer herself would explain, the accident resulted in her slipping a disc and chipping 11(!) of her vertebrae. If that wasn't enough, the fall also saw her left shoulder knocked out of place and the tearing of her rhomboid on her right side, leaving her on the sidelines for a month.
She'd later admit that she was "lucky" not to be paralysed, with Alexander's right leg and arm becoming briefly paralysed after sitting down in a car the following day and compressing her spine.
The Dark World itself may not have been mighty, but its Lady Sif warrior certainly was, with Jaimie fearlessly diving straight back into fight scenes after this undoubtedly scary slip.
