In the 2014 film Foxcatcher, Channing Tatum plays the role of former Olympic wrestler and gold medalist Mark Schultz, who suffers severely from confidence issues and living in the shadow of his older brother Dave (Mark Ruffalo).

After losing a match, Mark destroys his hotel room and goes on an eating binge in the aftermath, but there is one part of the scene that actually saw actor Tatum injure himself on camera that made it into the final cut of the movie.

Punching himself repeatedly in the face and turning to look at his reflection, Mark smashes his head into a mirror on the wall repeatedly causing it to shatter, and blood to start streaming down his face.

The blood is real though, as Tatum actually cut himself on the glass of the mirror after smashing his head into it repeatedly, but director Bennet Miller loved the take so much it made it into the final cut of the film.

In addition, Tatum also popped his eardrum after Mark Ruffalo slapped him too hard, but that's only to be expected when you ask the Hulk to not hold back from hitting you in the face.
