10 Actors Who Really Don't Belong In Upcoming Movies
3. Luke Bracey - Point Break
If you're absolutely, definitely going to remake Point Break (and there's nothing anybody can do or say to stop you), then you need to make sure that you don't cast any old actor in the role of Johnny Utah, Keanu Reeves' inherently ridiculous and yet somehow iconic FBI agent who becomes enamoured with a group of surfers he believes to be bank robbers. Point Break is getting a remake, in case you didn't know. And it looks as though the casting department haven't even bothered to find inspired replacements for either Johnny Utah or Patrick Swayze's Bodhi (played in this remake by Edgar Ramirez, who is a good actor but hardly one who has the box office clout of Swayze, does he?). Bracey, on the other hand, is a pretty terrible actor who started out on Australian soap Neighbors (and should have stayed there). As a result, he's bound to stink up the screen in what is a totally unnecessary and misjudged Point Break remake. Did the guys behind this film not realise that the first Point Break is beloved in a semi-ironic way? Bracey's casting (he's very much a Paul Walker type) suggests that they really didn't, and that this movie is going to ruin the legacy of the original for a lot of people.
