10 Actors Who Were Born To Play Their MCU Roles
3. Tom Hiddleston As Loki
For a villain that was meant to stand in the shadow of his brother, Loki seems to always outshine the God of Thunder in the MCU. The God of Mischief is very much the foil to Thor, and Tom Hiddleston's wonderfully cheeky portrayal of Loki has made him arguably the most popular villain in the greater MCU franchise.
Because of that popularity, Loki was given his own spin-off show on Disney+, which quickly became one of the most popular series on the platform. The show's cliffhanger ending, confirming a second season is on the way, delighted fans at the prospect of seeing Hiddleston again as Loki.
During an interview with GamesRadar, Tom expressed his excitement at returning to this role for a second season:
"It’s very much continuing to excite and challenge me. At the end of season 1, the story isn’t over. I think that’s really clear. Loki’s almost more unstable, and as turbulent and passionate and chaotic as he’s ever been. And maybe some of that needs resolution. There’s stuff to unpack.”
So, even after his death in Avengers: Infinity War, Loki is still one of the most popular characters in the MCU, and that popularity will continue to grow when Loki's second season is released in 2023.
