10 Actors Who Won't Be Coming Back For Upcoming Film Sequels

2. Noomi Rapace - Alien: Covenant

Here's a curious one, then - and highly unexpected, given what had been set-up. Despite the fact that Ridley Scott's beautiful but narratively messy Alien prequel, Prometheus, seemed to exist for the purpose of inspiring a sequel that would explain what the hell was actually going on, the main character from Prometheus - Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (played by Swedish actress Noomi Rapace) - isn't going to feature in the movie. You'll remember that Prometheus ended with Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and David (an android played by Michael Fassbender) jetting off to find the Engineers' homeworld, of course - a narrative event that most fans assumed would form the basis of the next chapter. But Alien: Covenant - with Ridley Scott's approval - has moved forwards without Noomi Rapace's involvement, which is kind of disappointing; Shaw was an interesting heroine, and it made sense that the sequel would chronicle her adventures. Michael Fassbender will return as David, at least, whilst Katherine Waterston will play the new lead.
