10 Actors Who Won't Be Coming Back For Upcoming Film Sequels

3. Jason Clarke - War For The Planet Of The Apes

There's a pattern emerging when it comes to the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise which denotes that if you were the lead human character in one movie, you almost certainly won't be playing the same role in its sequel. Which is to say that James Franco, star of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, was replaced by Jason Clarke for the film's acclaimed follow-up, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. And now, true to tradition, War for the Planet of the Apes, the third movie in the surprisingly great series, is set to star... well, not Jason Clarke, that's for sure. Clarke played the character of Malcolm in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, you'll remember, a guy who - having survived the apocalypse - befriends Andy Serkis' Caesar, an ape, during the clash between humans and primates. Set years after the events of that movie, the next film picks up years later and will star Woody Harrelson and Gabriel Chavarria instead.
