10 Actors You Wrongly Think Are In Movies
3. Mel Brooks - All The President's Men
Well, this one's really odd.
In the iconic 1976 Oscar-winning Watergate drama All The President's Men, there are those who swear blind that comedy legend Mel Brooks makes a subtle cameo appearance mid-way through the movie.
At the 59-minute mark, a man verbally identified as "Mickey" yet not formally credited in the film's end credits is seen skulking around the offices of The Washington Post, desperately trying to sell crosswords and anagrams to the paper's executive editor Benjamin Bradlee (Jason Robards).
On both Twitter and IMDB, it's been suggested that this uncredited man could indeed be Brooks, because while we don't get a clear look at his face, his physical stature and especially his "Jewish New Yorker" accent are incredibly similar to Brooks'.
And yet, given that Brooks' presence hasn't been brought up even once by anybody who worked on the movie in the last 45+ years, it's extremely unlikely - if not downright impossible - that this is really him.
Plus, if you freeze-frame the scene just as Mickey turns his head, what little of his face we can see side-on doesn't seem to conclusively resemble Brooks.
