Who He Is in Real Life: The Awkward, Nerdy Friend Who Likes to Be Pushy Doses. You can take Wikus in small doses. Because in the movie, we learn to sympathize with him as he begins to morph into the aliens he once shared the common prejudice with. However, in real life, (human) Wikus would be somewhat of a bother. He's nice enough, but he's also incredibly awkwardly assertive and strangely in-your-face. And we all know these people. They mean no real harm, but too much of them can send you over the edge on the wrong day. A lot of times, they're those people we see in school or work that we just don't spend a lot of time with. We walk by them, say hello, and continue on our way without much thought. But when we're put together with them in a project or something that requires collaboration, we start to see this strange manifestation of everything that's wrong with the world, despite the fact that we really don't have a problem with them. But they just tend to so and say the most forward things in the wrong way and just-- Please tell me I'm not the only one.
