10 Amazing Animated Film Soundtracks From The Last 10 Years
5. How To Train Your Dragon 2
Arguably the best film out of the trilogy, the soundtrack for the second film in Dreamworks's epic franchise about dragon riding really pulls you into their fantasy world, despite only having one lyrical song - in contrast to many Disney titles, where sing-alongs are often key.
Unlike most of the other titles in this list (save for one), How To Train Your Dragon 2's music carries the story without needing the words, from the memorable and epic opening song "Dragon Racing", which also serves as a sort of "theme song" for the entire film, to the beautiful "Flying With Mother", with its ethereal choir and tinkling bell chimes.
The uncertain beauty of the only diagetic, lyrical song, "For The Dancing And The Dreaming", shows the love between Hiccup's parents so effectively despite being apart for so long, and is later reflected by the tragic "Stoick's Ship".
While the music throughout all three films are wonderful to listen to, there's something special about the second entry that's worth the sound trip, and it certainly makes any listeners feel like dragon riders themselves.
