Not to be confused with the Russian fantasy action-horror of the same name nor the subpar American remake of the same name fronted by Ewan McGregor, the original Nightwatch stars future incest-prone Game of Thrones heartthrob Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as a young law student who takes a night watchman job at a Copenhagen morgue to fund his studies.

Meanwhile a necrophile serial killer with a penchant for scalping prostitutes is stalking the streets of the Danish capital and as the body count rises, evidence mounts that places Coster-Waldau’s character as the prime suspect behind the murders.

To be fair, the movie is probably more in line with the horror-thriller genre than an outright horror but there’s enough elements – a serial killer, a morgue setting and plenty of blood splatter including a nerve-curdling hand-severing scene – to keep horror fans entertained.
