10 Anticipated 2016 Movies That Have Already Lost The Oscar Race

The Buzz: Emmy winner Mick Jackson (Temple Grandin) directs a script from dual Oscar nominee David Hare (The Hours, The Reader) starring Oscar winner Rachel Weisz, twice nominee Tom Wilkinson, and the brilliant Timothy Spall. Weisz plays historian Deborah E. Lipstadt, who must prove the Holocaust in a court of law when denier David Irving (Spall) sues her for libel.

Why It's Already Lost: Reviews are distinctly in the mixed category coming out of Toronto, with near-universal praise for the cast, but less enthusiasm for Jackson's fairly clichéd, over-familiar approach to the courtroom drama genre.

This is another one that'll sadly come and go without much fuss on limited release, and you probably won't even remember you saw it by the end of the year.
