The career of Keanu Reeves has utterly skyrocketed in recent years, as the nicest guy in Hollywood has seen success with the John Wick franchise, he returned to the Matrix after so many years away, and is even an integral part of the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. The guy is just so incredibly popular, and anything he makes will likely see a huge amount of support.
When he was asked if there was a movie or character of his that he would like to revisit, out of all the possible options, his mind went to John Constantine.
Just nine months later came the announcement that both Reeves and original director, Francis Lawrence, were teaming up for said long-awaited sequel. However, in the four years since, there have been very few developments, and the news that has come through hasn't exactly been the most reassuring.
During a recent interview, Peter Stormare, who played Lucifer in the 2005 film and is set to reprise that role in the sequel, stated that at this point in time, Keanu Reeves simply isn't too happy with the script. Reeves has the kind of star power and influence that an opinion like this could stop the production dead in its tracks, so who knows when audiences may see Constantine take on the Devil once more?
