5. Courtroom Murder - Natural Born Killers

Unless you own Natural Born Killers on DVD or Blu-Ray, you'll have to settle for the above image, because it's a clip that proves troublesome to find online, a shame as it's one of the best and most entertaining deleted scenes of all time. Oliver Stone's underrated masterpiece has its wealth of off-the-wall, surreal scenes that seek to cement its social commentary about the media's toxic power, but few scenes in the film are as viscerally effect as this one, which features a young Ashley Judd. During Mickey's trial, Judd plays a young witness testifying against him, and as she speaks, Mickey leaps across the court, stabbing her through the chest with a pencil, while the media circus relishes in the madness of it all. Again, we can understand why Stone chose to cut it; from an ideological standpoint, it might just be a little too harsh. Judd did nothing to Mickey, and here he goes from using violence against bad people and turning the media tools unto themselves into something truly horrifying - a remorseless monster. Without this scene, Mickey is
slightly more sympathetic, if still a total loon.
