10 Awesome Fan Theories That Improve The X-Men Movies
5. X-Men Origins: Wolverine Was An In-Universe Anti-Mutant Propaganda Film
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is undoubtedly one of the worst movies in the X-Men franchise. There were so many issues with the content - William Stryker looked nothing like Brian Cox's version, Sabretooth looked nothing like Tyler Mane's, an awful lot of what was established in the first three movies was essentially thrown away. A fan theory explains this in a very outlandish but undoubtedly interesting way. It works on the assumption that the X-Men movies are "reality", so Wolverine and his fellow mutants are "real" people and, for the purposes of the theory, you should imagine they exist alongside you in the real world - this would also mean Hugh Jackman is an actor in the X-Reality. The theory is that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a movie made by anti-mutant propagandists, who used Hugh Jackman in place for Wolverine, and them getting their facts wrong was because of their anti-mutant agenda ("look how terrible mutants are"). The whole Deadpool plot was used as a fearmongering campaign to get this across. It's crazy but, at the very least, it wipes out the movie and explains why it was such a terrible piece of cinema.
