10 Awesome Horror Villains Trapped In TERRIBLE Movies
5. Doom-Head - 31
Richard Brake is one of those brilliantly menacing character actors who classes-up basically everything he appears in, and Rob Zombie's 31 is no exception.
The Running Man-inspired premise follows a group of carnival folk who are pursued through a maze by a gang of murderous clowns (called "Heads") for 12 hours.
Their leader is Doom-Head (Brake), an especially nauseating brand of psychopath even for the standards of Zombie's cinematic output. Brake chews through Zombie's pulpy dialogue with a focused intensity which makes it feel like his audition to play The Joker.
Fittingly, Brake previously appeared in Batman Begins as Joe Chill, the man who murdered Bruce Wayne's (Christian Bale) parents.
Suffice it to say, Doom-Head is the single bright spot in an otherwise miserable-in-a-bad-way horror romp that sees its polarising director trotting out the same tired edgier-than-edgy tricks to severely diminished returns.
In a better movie, though, Doom-Head could've easily become a genre icon in his own right.
