10 Awesome Movies With Terrible Endings

4. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith - NooOooOO!

Though the Star Wars prequel entries ultimately weren't that well received back when they were initially released, even before the trilogy was reappraised as the years rolled by, most agreed that Episode III: Revenge of the Sith was the strongest of the bunch.

A lot of the clunky dialogue left you wincing still, sure.

But magnificent performances from the likes of Ewan McGregor and Ian McDiarmid, a suitably intense display from Hayden Christensen once Anakin Skywalker finally headed over to the dark side, and some of the most spectacular visuals the entire Skywalker Saga had to offer made this Episode a mostly awesome journey.

But it was all leading to one important moment towards the end of the epic feature - a moment George Lucas well and truly botched, unfortunately.

After being burned almost to death by his former master Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar, a now-Darth Vader finally dons the famous suit and helmet.

However, the chilling sight of Vader finally rising is swiftly undermined by his unintentionally hilarious response to hearing of his beloved Padme Amidala's demise.

That "NoOoOoOoO!" quickly overshadowed thrilling lava duels, heartbreaking Order 66 executions, and the rest of an often fantastic Episode III, and turned what should have been a legendary moment into an infamous one.
