5. Wonder Woman - The Terrible CGI Final Boss Fight
Though there were certainly a number of misses there along the way, the DCEU did actually bring a few enjoyable hits before its eventual end in 2023.
Perhaps the most universally celebrated of the lot was Gal Gadot's first solo outing as Diana Prince, with Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman ranking as the franchise's highest-rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes, scoring a strong 93% on the Tomatometer.
However, while no one will deny that watching Wonder Woman kicking all of the ass on the WWI battlefield is about as awesome as it gets, all of that strong work produced by this stellar cast and Jenkins and co. was sadly undercut by a pretty lousy final fight.
On the back of the visually striking and routinely engaging action fans had been treated throughout the rest of the movie, Prince's climactic battle with David Thewlis' Ares was a huge letdown.
The CGI looked like it had been ripped right out of a B-movie, and the entire thing felt like it belonged in the also rather messy, unoriginal, and ugly final showdown found in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Again, that first Wonder Woman is still largely a joy of a picture, and it deserved far better than this cartoonish climax.
