The film sits at around 60% on most critical sites that combine reviews, so it's not a universally acclaimed film by any means, but it was Pattinson's first post-Twilight. The bleak landscape and brutal character he portrays couldn't have been further from the sparkling vampire audiences had become so accustomed to.
