For this article I'm going to open with a generalised (or to put it a better way - hopeful) statement but its one that I am confident in; We have all watched and loved the Star Wars films (some more than others), whether its the sequels or the prequels. No matter what generation you are, or which films you grew up watching, there is no denying it was a thrill ride of adventure and conquest. Following the characters and rooting for them as they fought the evil of the universe (or perhaps you rooted for the bad guys? - I'll confess I did from time to time.) And like me, I am sure that many of you have longed to own anything and everything that you saw within the movies. Wishing that every gadget was as real as the DVD (or VHS) youre holding and just as easy to get hold of. Sadly as its a film set in the future - yet somehow in the past and thus the idea of those dreams coming true are sadly quite far off in the future too. This article is going to look into some of the gadgets and accessory's from the films and in some cases try and justify some choices that don't strictly fit within the "accessory" title.
10. Jet Packs

First of all lets face it, having a jet pack would be awesome. For one its a fast and simple way to get from A to B. Simply strap the pack to your back, hit the button and off you fly to your destination. Sadly within the prequels we dont really get to see the jet packs full potential; aside from Boba Fetts rather short jet pack sequence in Return Of The Jedi, suring which he eventually falls, rather pathetically, into the Sarlacc pit. I think that is why the jet pack is displayed more effectively in Attack of the Clones when Obi Wan is confronting Jango Fett for the first time on Kamino; where we also learn that the Jet pack includes a single-use missile rocket. It just shows what an effective piece of machinery it is and how in the right hands it can also become a deadly weapon. My main concern however would be the cost-effectiveness of the equipment; I would imagine that the fuel costs would be through the roof, with no signs of getting any cheaper.
