Probably the worst and certainly the most disappointing film of writer-director Jim Jarmusch's career, The Dead Don't Die promised to do for the zombie genre what Jarmusch did for the vampire movie with Only Lovers Left Alive a few years ago, but falls almost completely flat.

Despite amassing a cracking ensemble cast including Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Chloe Sevigny, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Iggy Pop, Tom Waits and, yes, Selena Gomez, Jarmusch's script feels like a first draft that was cranked out over a long weekend.

The script does precious little new with the zombie genre, while the cast are given so little that they can't even elevate it with their sheer charms.

Jarmusch also makes the bizarre decision to get meta and chip away at the fourth wall, which doesn't really serve much purpose and is ultimately just a smug distraction.

While vaguely more watchable than most of the movies on this list, given the talent on-board it's still a colossal failure.
