10 Awful 2019 Horror Movies To Avoid This Halloween
6. In The Tall Grass

Though the recent likes of Gerald's Game and 1922 have proven Netflix to be a fine home for left-field Stephen King adaptations which wouldn't thrive in cinemas, this latest effort, adapted from a 2012 novella written by King and his son, is a crushing disappointment.
Despite a solid cast and the firm directorial nous of Vincenzo Natali (Cube), In the Tall Grass quickly squanders its appealingly claustrophobic premise - a group trying to escape a labyrinthine field of grass - with a thoroughly generic horror movie treatment.
Natali does his best to make the film visually dynamic within its spatial constraints, but it takes forever for anything to happen - and even longer for anything interesting to.
It's a classic case of a neat concept for a short film or Twilight Zone episode that's stretched out to agonising feature length and, as a result, a total bore.
