10 Awful Films Buffy The Vampire Slayer Actors Want Us To Forget
3. Dragonball: Evolution (2009) - James Marsters
After decades of enjoyment from one of the longest running anime series, and the many animated feature films that made it to cinemas, 20th Century Fox eventually decided to make a live action Dragonball that absolutely nobody wanted or asked for.
Goku (looking like Justin Chatwin in a five-minute cosplay) receives a legendary Dragonball from his grandfather, but the evil Lord Piccolo ushers in a fight for the Earth's survival and Goku et al are thrown into an epic quest to collect the six other Dragonballs.
And the world's favourite bleach blonde bad boy vampire, James Marsters (Spike), is stuck in the middle of it, as Piccolo himself, in green latex prosthetics and a muscle suit.
While Marsters has never had what one might call a thriving film career, he has nonetheless been a standard of sci-fi television, starring not only in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but Angel, Smallville, Torchwood and Supernatural, to name a few. Thus, a transition to something like Dragonball should have made sense.
As with many live action adaptations, however, the film was an unfortunate mess that didn't know what to do with its visuals, characters, talent or plot - luckily, none of the important things, huh?
In the time since, Marsters has soldiered on with his TV work, even voicing Zamasu in Dragon Ball Super, and made sure this misstep remains forgotten forever.
