10 Awful Movies Dexter Actors Want Us To Forget

6. No Stranger Than Love - Colin Hanks (Travis Marshall AKA Doomsday)

Bedrooms 2010
Orion Pictures

No Stranger Than Love follows a teacher called Lucy (Alison Brie) who is adored by everybody in her town. Every where she goes, trashmen flex their muscles and people hold out signs declaring their affection for her (she lives in a weird town).

However, the only person Lucy wants to be with is Clint (Colin Hanks), despite the fact he's married. Immediately after Clint admits that he loves her, he is sucked into a bottomless hole in her living room floor. Lucy then tries to rescue her lover from this nebulous portal, while simultaneously trying to hide their affair.

Basically, No Stranger Than Love is a metaphysical satire like Being John Malkovich... if Being John Malkovich was terrible. The film tries way too hard to be quirky but it doesn't really work since the story doesn't seem to have any real message. Even though Alison Brie is hilarious on Community, all her potentially comedic moments here fall flat. Since Colin Hanks is inside a hole for about 80% of the movie, you can't see him, making his casting a waste.
