10 Awful Movies With Incredible Casts
8. The Big Wedding
Cast: Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Robin Williams, Susan Sarandon, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace, Katherine Heigl
Even though Robert De Niro is a powerhouse actor for drama, Meet the Parents proved he was more than equipped for comedy. With the benefit of hindsight, Meet the Parents may have been a fluke since he's appeared in countless comedic flops like New Years' Eve, Little Fockers, Shark Tale, Showtime, and Dirty Grandpa.
But with The Big Wedding, you'd think it would be a bit more bearable considering it has the comedic talents of Diana Keaton, Susan Sarandon, Topher Grace, and the legendary Robin Williams. Sadly, Williams' masterful improv isn't enough to save this travesty.
The tropes are all too familiar, making The Big Wedding insultingly predictable. The instant a character explains their situation, you can figure out what's going to happen to them. Also, there's no joke that hasn't been done a hundreds times before and a hundred times better in other films.
If you're hankering for a wedding comedy, give this laughless dud a hard pass and watch Four Weddings and A Funeral instead.
