6. Zoolander 2
Release Date: 2014 In truth it wasn't all that bad an idea - even putting aside the issues of Stiller's increasingly poor movies - but the recent news that Lady Gaga might be on board didn't do much to help, even though it was subsequently rubbished by Stiller himself. But the rumour still brought up exactly what might end up being wrong with Zoolander - in the quest for success, Stiller and co might dial the comedy up too far, and distract from what was a fairly strong but fairly simple central conceit. It's a similar issue to the concerns many have over Anchorman 2 - the original was a classic, which landed at the perfect moment and made a huge impact with comedy fans, but the jokes probably won't work second time out, no matter how much you mess with the rest of the film to try and make it all feel new (see Deuce Bigalow: European Gigalo). Unfortunately, all I can see for Zoolander 2 is failure - there is no way the comic impact of Blue Steel will work again for a second time without turning some fans who initially loved the character off him.
