10 Awful-Sounding Sequels That Have No Business Being Made

7. Bad Boys 3

Release Date: 2015 (?) Supposedly set for release in 2015, the third in the explosive trilogy that helped cement Will Smith's reputation as a leading man will no doubt follow the trend of decreasing quality of the first two, as well as the rise in ridiculious, grotesque humour that saw a car chase peppered by disintegrating corpses stuffed with drugs and a baffling scene involving missionary sex between two rats. Neither were as funny as the script-writers clearly believed, and both distracted from what could have been a good buddy cop franchise. Though he did just make Men In Black 3, at this stage in his career, Will Smith should be above this sort of project, and retreading these waters will only have a negative effect on his public image. Unless they can come up with an exceptional script, there is very little chance Bad Boys 3 will be any kind of success other than a financial one - and even then they'll presumably be hamstrung by inflated actor contracts and a commitment to making the third film bigger, louder and dumber than the other two. It is another potential Michael Bay project after all.
