10 Bad Movies Made Much Better If You Watch Them As A Comedy

8. House Of 1000 Corpses (2003)

When rock star Rob Zombie first tried his hand at theatrical film-making nobody really knew what to expect. His music and subsequent music videos were filled to the brim with nods to classic horror films of yesteryear. Would he bring this same mentality to his directorial debut? Yes and no. Rob€™s first film, House of 1000 Corpses is a complete mess. The directing is amateurish, it's not really offering anything new and everything shocking that it's trying to convey doesn't really come across as intended. The plot focuses on two couples who are held hostage by a sadistic backwoods family on Halloween. Almost immediately after the film was released it developed a strong cult following. Not because it's a frightening horror film but because it's pretty funny; sometimes intentional and other times not. You have Sid Haig as Captain Spaulding, a clown with a love for fried chicken. You have Bill Moseley as Otis B. Driftwood, an albino who likes to make fun of girls for wearing socks with Mickey Mouse on them. And you have Sheri Moon Zombie as Baby Firefly, a sadistic young lady with an annoying (yet adorable) laugh who will steal your heart, literally. House of 1000 Corpses may not be a horror classic but the characters within it are indeed some of the funniest the genre has ever produced.
