10 Bad Movies Made Much Better If You Watch Them As A Comedy
6. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
There is a reason why there has never been a truly great video game movie, they just don't seem to translate all that well on the big-screen. 1995's Mortal Kombat is probably the closest thing we have to an exception to the rule. The fight scenes were decent, the music was legendary, and Johnny Cage was absolutely kick-ass! The same can not be said of its sequel released two years later. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation picks up where the last film left off. For those of you unfamiliar, the story (for both films really) is basically about a bunch of human warriors who have to face off against other-worldly fighters in order to save the planet. Annihilation makes the first MK look like a masterpiece. Nothing in the film makes sense but if you can learn to not take it so serious you might just be able to enjoy it. The dialogue is cheesy, the CGI is so bad that it makes I Am Legend look like Alfonso CuarĂ³n's Gravity and the fight scenes look like an even lower-budget Power Rangers episode. In other words, there is plenty to laugh at.
