10 Belated Film Sequels Hollywood Should Never Make

2. Wayne’s World 3

Groundhog Day
Paramount Pictures

The Original:

Wayne's World (1992). A successful expansion of Mike Myer's SNL character, Wayne's World saw Metal Head Wayne and best pal Garth (Dana Carvey) sell the rights to their public access TV show, only to learn about the risk and compromise inherent in corporate interference.

The Sequel:

When the public access station that airs his show comes under threat, an ageing Wayne is forced to seek out his estranged pal Garth, who gave up metal for life as a corporate suit. Wayne wants Garth’s company to sponsor a rock concert to save the station.

An initially reluctant Garth is won over when Wayne helps Garth bond with his kids over a shared love of Bohemian Rhapsody. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll lament your lost youth and buy a second-hand guitar on Ebay.
