10 Best British Films Of The Last Decade
6. Skyfall
Arguably one of the very best James Bond films to date, Skyfall sees director Sam Mendes taking a page out of Christopher Nolan's book as he forges a classic spy thriller that benefits considerably from its more serious tone, Daniel Craig's grizzled performance as Bond, Javier Bardem's marvelously creepy villain, and Judy Dench's best work in the franchise as M.
The action sequences sizzle, Roger Deakins' cinematography is beautiful, Adele's title song is an all-timer, and it basically manages to be a terrifically fresh Bond film that also doesn't forget what audiences love about the character.
Though the quality of Craig's Bond movies has been fairly hit-and-miss, Skyfall is easily the greatest of the three to release over the last decade, and an excellent British film in its own right.
