10 Best Character Arcs In The MCU (So Far)
7. Loki
The (adopted) brother of the God of Thunder himself, Thor, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has had a massive transformation the MCU, and has played vital roles in the formation of the Avengers and the development of his brother.
Loki was always the bad guy. Thor, Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, even, in parts, Thor: Ragnarok all saw him play a major villain. But it would be unfair to dismiss the God of Mischief as just a generic Marvel antagonist, because he's so much more complicated and ever-changing than that.
After trying to overthrow his father and discard of his brother, and after an ill-fated attack on New York, Loki was locked up on Asgard and began to slowly atone for his wrongdoings. He helps Thor take down the Dark Elves, and later aids in battle of Asgard against their estranged (and deranged) sister Hela.
By Infinity War, Loki too had proved himself to be a hero, with all his past indiscretions cast aside as symptoms of not evil intentions, but jealousy and neglect. Unfortunately, fans didn't have long to see him as his hero, as he was brutally killed by Thanos in the opening act of Infinity War.
His next appearance is set to be in his own mini-series on Disney+, where all of his development has been forgotten to an alternate timeline. Hopefully, he'll notice his true potential here, too.
