10 Best Comedy Actors Of The Last 25 Years

6. Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill has become one of the most sought-after young stars in Hollywood these days, producing Oscar-nominated turns in Moneyball and The Wolf Of Wall Street. He also stars in the hotly-anticipated upcoming drama True Story. Despite his obvious talent in serious roles, the 30-year-old is still at his very best in comedies. Hill's first appearance in anything of note in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, in a very minor role as a brilliantly confused shop customer. Even in that one-minute cameo, he was extremely funny. It was 2007 that proved to be a huge breakthrough year for him though. He was excellent in Knocked Up, as one of Seth Rogen's character Ben's crude, infantile friends, and he played the lead role in the utterly fantastic Superbad, which saw him earn plenty of plaudits. His foul-mouth and comic delivery as Seth - he was playing a young version of Rogen, who wrote the film - was a sight to behold. Since then he has gone from strength to strength. He was so well-received in Forgetting Sarah Marshall that his character earned a starring role in the sequel, Get Him To The Greek, while he has also excelled in Funny People, 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street. Even in the aforementioned serious performances in Moneyball and The Wolf Of Wall Street he is very funny at times; in the latter, his acting when under the influence of drugs is extraordinary. At 30, his career is still in its infancy, and it will be thrilling to see how it progresses in the coming years. Hill is one of the most talented actors of his generation, and easily one of the funniest.
