10 Best Film Remakes Of All Time

Peter Mangold is now best known for his incredible film Logan, but the edgy superhero film wasn't his first foray into movies about violent men being chased down by their past.

3:10 to Yuma is a Western film with Christian Bale and Russell Crowe, remaking the 1957 original with Glenn Ford and Van Heflin. The original film was unremarkable except for its strong cinematography and unusual casting of Glenn Ford as a villain, but the remake has a much better response.

The performances are stellar all around, from Crowe to Bale to the supporting cast, and the overall story resonates much stronger because of that. There's plenty of quality action and never lets the pace slow down too much, and the film marked a minor resurgence in interest for the Western genre as a whole which eventually led to the success of Westworld and the earlier-on-this-list True Grit.
