9. Harry Brown (2009)
Michael Caine is the titular character, a retired soldier living in a rundown estate that's terrorised by gangs. When his best friend is killed he decides to take the fight to them. While hardly a full tilt action romp like Taken, Harry Brown is still an effective vigilante thriller with a tailor made role for Sir Michael. Harry is a decent man who just wants to live in peace but cant abide all the crime that goes on around him. The action scenes, when they do come, are curt and impactful and thankfully never stretch credibility (you wont be seeing Harry do any kung fu moves or two gun dives through the air). British rapper Ben Drew also makes for a great villain, a sneering bully who needs a proper lesson in manners from Harry. I hope Im this tough when I turn 77.
