10 Best Highway Action Scenes In Cinema History

4. Fast & Furious 6

The Matrix Reloaded Freeway
Universal Pictures

Given the increasingly ludicrous escapades that Dominic Toretto and his extended family have gotten themselves into over the years, it seems difficult to pick just one standout highway-set action scene from a franchise that was originally born from the world of street racing.

However, in terms of being big, loud, dumb, not making a lick of sense and defying the laws of physics, logic and gravity all at once while seemingly embracing the notion that they know this is about as close to jumping the shark as it gets, the sixth installment's epic slice of vehicular warfare takes the cake.

Using an annihilated vehicle as an anchor in order to immobilize a tank, which then leads Vin Diesel to intentionally drive a speeding car into a barricade so that he can fly like Superman in order to snatch his amnesiac former lover out of mid-air is utterly preposterous, but also awesome and totally fitting for such a demented franchise.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
