Not a home invasion movie per se but it is about punk kids who have nothing better to do than break and enter, rape, steal, kill, brawl, vandalize, and just about any other nasty sounding verb that you can come up with. Stanley Kubrick adapted the Americanized version of the book which means that this is one of the very few films on this list that has anything close to resembling a happy ending, but that doesnt make this a happy film. Quite the opposite; the lightheartedness of Malcolm McDowell's Alex and his fellows only adds a grim sincerity to the whole affair. There are multiple invasions over the course of the movie, the first of which ends with a rape and a permanent crippling and the second of which ends in a murder- and that's just in the first hour! Alex's whistles and cackles echo deep into the latter half of the movie when his awful actions are matched by equally brutal comeuppances. Bonus: this film will ruin both Beethovens 9th and Singin In The Rain for you.
Joe Sippy grew up in Chicago and now resides in Los Angeles. He enjoys corn dogs, rap music, and horror movies. On weekends you can find him in the ocean, surfing very poorly.
